This year we obtained $50.00 from The Big Y supermarket for food gift cards. We also donated about 99.00 of our own money to two local churches via Amazon.com shipments. Also, St. John's soup bank on Temple St.
We donated small steak cuts to a local church foodbank with the Big Y supermarket cards. Two 25.00 cards. They're sweethearts for helping us with such a low barrier to entry. You just ask.
We were able to donate -- from personal funds, -- under Malachi 3:30 -- a ten percent tithe it's called equaling several boxes of food to two local church food banks. One in Paxton, Ma that is
24 hours and self-serve, no questions asked and another with its door open to walk into basement and leave offerings on the stage in Rutland, MA.
We donated by Amazon to the following: Cases of Ramen noodles,
cases of Hormel Complete ready-to-serve meat meals as well sa soups and a few other items. It's a start right. We tried for meat, hearty, and satisfying...no salt, sugar, and carbs...the same ol' donations. We went for the best.
We have been handing panhandlers in our drinks and food in lieu of money when were
between paydays. Sometimes my drinks are room temperature and so I hope to get a 12vdc ($200.00) icebox for car or a regular cooler for backseat. Wish us monies and luck.
At home, we are setting up a box of food in our apartments, laundry room, or pool area for those in need. Not sure it will give off ground due to condo rules and culture of this place. But, my guests, when I have them, are welcome to a bite...maybe a crudites and
charcouterie board, expensive as they are. People get hangry and grumpy before they plump up on good love. In italy food is family and love. I'm Italian.
We donated $9.00 by Western Union to a man starving (he said) in Tunisia Morocco far from city and ocean. Said he had dying elderly parents and hunger. No jobs.
We found Western Union to be easy to use for 1.00 fee and license pick up by the young man.
I would use them again. So, may people were begging for food on
Facebook and other sites, I was scared. He thought i had 100.00 for him. We maxed our card out for him though. I am not a libtard. I'm a lover who has seen bottom and top.
We would like to donate to Israel and Ukraine and others but I like feeding kids in USA and elderly here,
first, if possible.
